You’re Welcome
ByAnd now a message from Linda B. Cumberbatch, candidate for DuPont City Council Position One.
Linda wrote me an email today to correct information provided in the comment section of the blog post “Quiz Show” that appeared on the morning of October 6th. The post claimed that there are candidates who took campaign contributions from the Lakewood Fire Union. Linda claims this to be patently false and provided the proof you hear detailed in the video dramatization.

Frankly, I believe her. I do not think any organization would be so blatant as to directly provide contributing funds to a candidate in such a contested environment. Nonetheless, Linda has directed any doubters to check for themselves with the Pierce County Auditor’s office. The information she provided actually should help answer follow on comments from Hoffman Hell Raiser.
However, it would be important for Linda to understand that it is generally understood that comments made by anonymous sources are considered by any reasonable standard as unverified.
In a way, it is too bad Linda did not choose to address the misinformed commenter directly in the post. She could have begun a dialog and provided useful information herself. In turn, perhaps someone could have informed Linda about the CPI.
But hey, at least she is reading the website, right?
Now I would like to make a request of candidate Cumberbatch. In deference to time, so we don’t have to Google “Linda Cumberbatch Pierce County” or search www.pdc.wa.gov or even search “Linda Cumberbatch” at the Pierce County Auditor’s Office; why don’t you just tell us who your campaign treasurer is, or better yet, your campaign manager, so that we can contact them directly for these documents.
We could save so much time that way and see these documents directly.
I went looking for the public record to see who donated to Linda’s campaign, but instead, I find that Linda has been in trouble with Pierce County for NOT paying her sewer bill. This public record shows that she was in trouble with the county less than 1 year ago!

So, this brings up a real question of character. Will you vote for Linda Cumberbatch to watch over your money, when Linda Cumberbatch has a record of not paying her own county bills when they are due?
The robot was good.
Similar to a parrot, but hey, robots say & DO what they are told.
I wonder what her response will be to the illegal council meeting that she has a picture of on her flyer?
Illegal council meeting? Human sacrific? Speaking in tongues? I did not get her flyer so the mind wanders…
More questions than answers. I searched the state Public Disclsoure Commission web site, http://www.pdc.wa.gov, and Pierce County Auditor’s web site. They reveal nothing about contributions to any Dupont council candidates. Anybody know the secret to this? I really want to know the truth about who’s buying elections. It would answer a long going concern I’ve had about who’s really running our town.
I could not locate them from the information provided either. But I happen to agree with Mike. I don’t think the Fire Union would be so stupid as to contribute to any of these campaigns, not directly anyway. Can either flashy fylers or Linda provide direct proof?
Looks like the Larry Wilcox campaign provided some of the answers.
All joking aside, it is about time there was a dialog started in this town rather than the usual stone walling. Thanks to all who asked and answered!
I found some very interesting things when Googling Linda Cumberbatch and Pierce County. None of the returned searches provided any insight into campaign financing.
Hrm.. Linda should have paid her bill.

Holy Cow!
Linda Cumberbatch cannot pay her own sewer bill and has a lien placed on her house – Last year?!?!?! Is this the representative we want spending our money in city hall?
Be careful, my computer detected a virus/spyware issue from Rut Roh’s link.
If you go to the Pierce County Public records search website:
http://hartweb.co.pierce.wa.us/
Then click to search on public records. For Party Name, enter in “Cumberbatch, Linda”
It will bring up a series of public documents, 17 public documents are shown.
If you click on the one labeled “Sewer Lien”, you will see that on 12/07/2008, Linda Cumberbatch had a lien against her house placed by Pierce County for not paying her sewer bill, totaling $343.77.
Take this as a character reference before you cast your ballot.
