Expanded Use of Golf Carts Studied The City is reviewing the implications of a request from the Sierra Club to permit the use of golf carts on City streets. The Washington Department of Transportation has indicated that cities can test the feasibility of such a use as a pilot project. State Representative Tami Green intends to sponsor some language changes in the state statutes (RCW) which would put golf carts on the same position as bicycles (i.e. be able to ride in the bike paths and trails where bikes are permitted). And who here can remember the Dupont power outage two winters ago that lasted four or five days? I had never froze then more then than anywhere else I've lived and that also includes the midwest and Alaska. I'm also starting to wonder if our home fire suppression systems are more trouble than they are worth having. I've seen a disturbing number of homes damaged by these things in Dupont over the past four years, and not necessarily due to the cold. I wonder what the stats are for burst home pipes?
