Wrong Direction,

If we take matters into our own hands and start flinging poo and/or harsh words at our neighbors, the police will have a different problem that involves feuds and conflict on a whole new level.

Maybe vigilante justice is a byproduct of the DuPont community growth and development strategy? We are going from 'Howdy Neighbor' to 'Keep your F!@#$ing dog off my lawn A#$hole'.

It isn't about solutions in this town, it is about checking it off the list. Who cares of something works or not?

Steve-O,
You have a good point, here is why...

Anyone who knows this community, will know that a "one time" education blitz with the community at large will do nothing to solve the problem. We have a steady influx/outflux of citizens from all over the USA, some with spouses who are not from the USA.

We have a perpetual problem with dog owners who come from many cultures and social background. Many of them do not think dog doodie is something you pick up and place in a garbage can. And trust me, they are not reading the laws on the city's website either.

I'm certain that the Mayor, who is "IN PROCESS" on a solution for our good community has already considered the transient nature of our community, and she should KNOW that a blurb in the news letter, facebook, readerboard will be nothing more than a wet noodle response.

I do like the idea of peer pressure - Zing anyone who has a dog that craps on your lawn, really let them have it. Or like one post in the PI stated, pick it up with rubber gloves and throw it at them. That'll show'em!

Maybe the city can erect some video kiosks on the trails and play this in an infinite loop. I am sure Glacier wouldn't mind pitching in some dollars to support the community.

Thank you for the informative video. I am searching the Howcast archive for the instructional video on how to govern a city through the use of vision and accomplishments. If I find it I would like to share it with Snow White and her seven mental midgets.

I've witnesses all of these right here in DuPont:

Didn't See Anything - Those who quickly look in the opposite direction and continue speed walking.
Pretend To Get A Bag - Those who act as if they were searching for a bag, go to their car to "search" for one, then speed off.
The Blatant Jerk (edited the last word again) - They are probably on a cell phone talking loudly, and while their dog "does the deed" they'll continue talking, and then just stroll off like it never happened.
I'm Too Rich Lady - A woman who doesn't usually walk her own dog, so when nature calls she'll probably be ill prepared. She's not really mean, just naive about what to do.
The Dude Who Just Got High - You can't really be mad at this guy. Although he's fully aware what his dog is doing, he'll be far too fascinated with his surroundings to take the next step.
