Larry Wilcox Coaches Citizens

By Mike G.

What is a televised DuPont City Council meeting without the comments from Larry Wilcox?

First, Larry thanked our City Staff. Then, Larry thanked our troops. Now, Larry wants to thank those who comment at City Council Meetings.

The interesting part regarding these comments is that they came at the end of a meeting where the city discussed hiring a company to professionally develop a survey to the tune of $25,000. On one hand, they want to encourage more people to speak out and provide the council and mayor with input. On the other hand, the city wants to hear from a wider cross section of the town.

I suspect that they think the people who bother to show up are a minority opinion. They must be outliers.

Wishful thinking.

The city has an opportunity to venture down a real rat hole here. Will they get their white whale of a statistically significant cross section of towns folk? I suspect that our demographic is a little more capricious than we many understand.

Here, Councilman Wilcox provides his standard input of restating the problem. In this case by emphasizing community input by thanking those who speak before them (including his opponent in his re-election). You have to tip your hat to Larry; he is a company man to the end.

After watching this video all I can think of is “what took you so long?” Seeing value in citizen input?

In November we will see who believes him.

They should call him THE rambling man or the mouthpiece. I start going into a coma every time he speaks and that’s a lot. Cant wait till November I’ll say ha ha buy buy.

  2. Wiseblood says:

Larry is just part of the whole.

What is meant by TV Land?

  4. Oh no you didn’t. The clip of Larry at the very end of the video is worthy of “The Soup”

  5. Roger Bacon says:

I do believe that was an endorsement from Larry Wilcox – Jason Pierce for City Council, everybody!

Jason has confronted council with some good ideas for the past year (He’s got the passion), let’s give him the chance to make a positive impact on our community.

  6. HELP WANTED says:

You can do it Jason and not break the bank.

  7. Cain slew Abel says:

How about we figure out a write-in candidate for Ehrenreich’s position 3 while we are at it.
