More DuPont WA Litter Shame
ByWill the town ever care about such messes greeting citizens and visitors alike? Merely a few short weeks since I last reported on a pile of garbage on a commercial property I happened across this monstrosity located at the not so enclosed dumpster that serves the retail area near Starbucks, Dominos, and Subway.
While it is not the city’s responsibility to clean up the trash it is their responsibility to enforce city ordinance. Since this trash area is home to four restaurants, it makes you question what lurks within the mound of refuse.
Maybe CalPortland can dig a gigantic pit where we can bury all this excess trash…er, wait. Never mind.

Drove by here this morning. The photos don’t even do it justice. It is a complete mess. The owners and tenants should be ashamed of themselves.
Hey, the original plan in 1990 called for the post mining pit to become a landfill. Maybe these folks hope to be the first contributors.
Stardumps. Great place to take a dump, or just dump your trash.
I wonder if that is a Venti sized pile of garbage or just a grande?
That is a bummer to see that. Maybe if the city or the strip mall owner appointed one person to oversee the dumpster area, it would stay clean. Ideally everyone would be able to police themselves but that’s obviously not realistic.
There was an interesting post to the Department of Natural Resources website this week about illegal dumping of a hot tub in the Capitol Forest State Park. http://washingtondnr.wordpress.com/2011/12/06/hot-tub-time-machine-lands-in-capitol-state-forest-no-just-more-illegal-dumping/
It’s a problem everywhere. But this is an example of how the state responds to this kind of issue. In our town, the city ignores the problem.
Honey child, the city needs cash not trash. We need volunteers to clean this mess up.
