By Mike G.

In case anyone thought that I was premature in announcing that the City of DuPont leadership had no intention of honoring their commitment I present to you the published agenda for the next council workshop to be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010.

  1. Hoffman Hell Raiser says:

So, is the city really going to spend $5000 on a facilitator for this one day workshop?

    • RBS says:

This isn’t that kind of workshop. It is just another pointless meeting when our elected officials gather to set policy and direct staff.

That doesn’t mean that they can’t waste money since they feel that is what they were elected to do.

I think if the city chooses to hire another facilitator this year you will see all out mutiny. The concept just doesn’t work with group of dolts.

      • Wiseblood says:

Better look again, RBS. It looks like another $5000 wasted on this group of promise breakers.

  2. Taxpayer says:

Isn’t this a regular council workshop that they have inbetween regular council meetings?

    • Hollow Bob says:

If you look at the detailed agenda it appears the city approached the facilitator of the last retreat to help with item 4b.

  3. Here we go again says:

They also have schedule a retreat in the first QTR of 2010. More of your money spent, with the same result; Nothing!

    • Yehle Mom says:

Isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result?

      • Here we go again says:

Yehle Mom, I think you have summarize the entire DuPont City Government with that defintion.

  4. The Mayor says:

That my cuz your taking about.

  5. Hoffman Hell Raiser says:

Anyone have thoughts about how the city appears to have chosen an inside hand picked successor to Bill McDonald as city administrator verses advertising the job and conducting interviews from a pool of chosing from the best possible candidates? I mean this as no offense to Dawn Masko, I’m simply questioning the process and the judgement in this matter. I’m concerned with missing an opportunity of having a fresh face leading our community and turning it around.

    • No Progress says:

It stinks like much of the whole of this mayor’s tenure. Business as usual. The worst part is the amount of money they are going to pay her for zero experience (being ‘assistant’ doesn’t count). I thought those big bucks were reserved for attracting the best candidate?

    • Eighty Four Feet says:

I think she did it because hiring Clint would have been too obvious.

  6. Palisade Denizen says:

    Hell Raiser,

The decision was made at Floyd’s barber shop while Andy had a haircut. Gomer and Goober thought it was a swell idea…

Isn’t that so quaint, yet seemingly appropriate given the small town feel you read about in the Quadrant literature?

No change or growth wanted or desired if you read the fine print.
